In the summer of 2016 several Cornell University students traveled to Santorini, Greece to learn about water resources on the island. This website holds the results of that work in the form of the Santorini Water Walks. The Santorini Water Walks have been created using pre-existing hiking trails on the island to highlight water resources and the water history of the island in hopes of encouraging more sustainable tourism practices for the future of the island.
We’re thrilled to learn that our work promoting sustainable tourism practices on the island has taken off. Click here to see an article New York Times writer Shivani Vora has written about Santorini’s Hiking Trails
